Imports of stone are rising and local producers are seemingly content, however, the industry’s continued growth and stability relies heavily on the availability of a young, well trained, flexible and skilful workforce. Natural stone does not change but the processes used to extract, process and install these time-honoured materials certainly do. At the moment, our long term future remains in the balance.
